Last week, we were able to fulfill our second request for a care package and we wanted to share with you all just another example of where your generous donations to the Breathe for Bea Foundation goes towards. The ask came in from Beth, a mom to two teens with Cystic Fibrosis named Julie and Michael who live in New Jersey. Michael is 17 and a senior attending college in the fall, and Julie is 14 and a freshman in high school.
Unfortunately, CF has given Beth’s kids lots of challenges so she reached out to us asking if we provided a “home” care package in addition to our hospital care packages. We had never received a request like this before, but after talking with Beth and learning more about her kids and what they liked, we were really excited to try and bring some extra cheer to Julie and Michael’s day!
So, how did we do? Here’s what Beth had to say after Julie and Michael received their packages in the mail:
“The kids were definitely surprised and you guys nailed it! Everything in the box was them! From the candy to the water bottle, journal books and gift cards! Julie said how did they know I like Starbucks! It was awesome. My husband took 50 pictures. Oh and the shirts with the beach theme is so us! Michael wanted to know how you knew he liked Star Wars and said he will wear it on Friday! Thank you from one CF family to another!”
Seeing the excitement on the kids faces really brought a smile to our own, and hope that it does the same for you! We are so glad to have made another connection with a CF family, and its your kindness and support that allows us to help other families like Beth’s who are battling with this terrible disease. So please, help us to be able to do more of this by donating. As you can see, your generosity goes a long way.
